JACK is turning 10 years old!!! Since his early days in Kerma, the always fresh clubnight has given you the power to jack your body! Rosegarden, Kuudes Linja, Playground, YK and now Venue have seen crowd attendance records broken again and again. And these parties weren’t only attended, they rocked the venues upside down.

Tens of different international guest DJ’s visited JACK. Nick Warren, Dave Seaman, Matthew Dekay and Ian Ossia to name but only a few. For this very special night, we are glad, excited and honored to have the undisputed king of Nu Disco come and play a set that will take us to the true roots of House music. Aeroplane has left his mark on the music world through his remixes for Sebastien Tellier, Cassius and Chromeo, his own hits like ‘We Can’t Fly’ and ‘Caramellas’ and is one of the most followed tastemakers in the blogosphere. Aside from blowing up LOVE at The Circus, making people jump for joy at Flow Festival, he is repeatedly invited to headline some of the worlds leading festivals. Joining him is an allstar line up of JACK residents, Orkidea, Mr.A, Orion and Oded Peled.

Viime keväänä Suomen klubimusiikkipiirejä puhuttivat Gramexin tekemät DJ-ratsiat sekä niitä seurannut DJ-lisensseihin liittynyt tapaaminen Teoston kanssa. Tämän Teoston koollekutsuman DJ-tapaamisen jälkeen koko lisenssiasiasta ei ole kuulunut mitään. Eikä ihme – asian nostattaman mekkalan jälkeen on molempien organisaatioiden etujen mukaista, että asian annettaisiin hieman viiletä ennenkuin sitä puidaan uudestaan.

Photos: Summer in Berlin (and beyond)…

As some of you might know, I’ve been keeping a photo blog for the past year here in Berlin. Here are some of my personal highlights of the past summer.
So, what did I do?

Finally met my childhood hero.

Visited amazingly beautiful Wannsee.

Got to the Dome.

Regretted of not being younger.

Realized that Lahti never lets you down. Hosting was pretty good, too… ;)

Visited Singapore.

… and Malaysia.

Didn’t feel alone watching football.

Finally got some.

Found some real weird children books.

Got addicted.

Visited abandoned military hospital.

Found a new favorite band.

Raved at S-Bahnhof.

Tried to get most out of cloudy July.

Found out that agony has 240 steps.

Broadcasted live from Kajaani. With Borat.

… and Kajaani was pretty cool outside the studio, too.

Had quite some hosting in Tampere.

Enjoyed the calmness of Helsinki.

… and the craziness of it.

Had a pulse over 170bpm.

Calmed down.

Enjoyed every drop of it.

Kept rain in Monbijou Park.

Raved at an abandoned spy station.

Found the best slogan of the year (upper left corner).

Visited the STASI prison.

Realized he’s just like me.

Enjoyed the street art.

… and the sunsets.

Visited abandoned children’s hospital.

Didn’t mind the late heat.

Had plenty of fun in Vaasa.

YleX:n perjantai-illan kaksituntisessa soitossa mm. kotimaiset artistit Koobra, Gylling, Cut&Slice, Super8&Tab, Tom Fall, Timo Vaittinen, Kai Harmaala & Phase One sekä Heavyweight. Kuuntele tulevat suomihitit eksklusiivisessa ensisoitossa. Ulkomaita edustavat Angry Manin acid-vetoinen goatrance, Skrillexin tyttöystävä Ellie Goulding sekä isossa nosteessa oleva trancepappa Talla 2XLC.

Perjantai-illan viimeinen tunti ollaan pyhitetty tech-house -rytmeille. Venuen ja Playgroundin aamujen resident-kasvo Concha on ottanut aamujen pikkutunnit tiukasti haltuun pääkaupunkiin muuttamisensa jälkeen. Miltä kuulostaa musiikki paljon puhutuissa aamubileissä ja mitä mieltä maestro itse on iltapäivään asti jatkuvista bileistä? Concha XmiXissä klo 23 alkaen.
