DJ Orion @ YleX – 16.03.2012 – XmiX: 501

YleX:n perjantai-illassa 16.03. kahlataan jälleen läpi täyslaidallinen elektronista musiikkia. Soitossa mm. Daft Punk, Stardust, Swedish House Mafia, Marco Bailey, Arno Cost, Dennis Sheperd sekä suomalaisista Turismo, Jesse Oliver ja Alex Kunnari. Lisäksi soitossa Viikon Uutuus ja Viikon Vinyyli vuodelta ’96.

Lisäksi startataan Thomas Gold -kilpailu, jossa on mahdollisuus voittaa VIP-liput Thomas Goldin keikalle. Gold saapuu Helsinkiin Fredan Tivoliin 5.4.2012.

XmiXin ottaa perjantaina haltuun valtavassa nosteessa oleva suomalainen dubstep-artisti 501. YleX:n Viikon Tehona soinut ja soittolistallekin päätynyt 501:n tuore raita Headrush soi tällä hetkellä klubeilla ympäri maailmaa. Kiireistä huolimatta mies ehti antaa haastattelun ja pyöräyttää YleX:lle eksklusiivisen tunnin XmiXin tuoreinta rikkobiittiä. 501:n XmiX soi ohjelman toisella tunnilla klo 23-24.

Ohjelma on livelähetys Berliinistä.

Ohjelma on kuultavissa jälkikäteen Ylen Areenalla viikon ajan.

Playground after hours are always worth visiting and being the unofficial Pacifique afterparty, it was pretty clear it’s going to be off the hook. Flink had already the groove on when I arrived and it was easy to continue where he left off. I’ve lately been into a bit more technoish stuff so I left most of the tech-housey tracks off this time and offered some pretty dark and gloomy techno tunes instead. And boy, did they go down well… Brilliant night and awesome crowd. Looking forward to the next visit :)

Maaliskuun ulkomaisten artistien XmiX-sarjaa jatkaa perjantaina ruotsalainen elektronisen musiikin moniottelija Marcus Schössow. Marcus pyöräytti kasaan eksklusiivisen miksauksen Suomen klubikansaa varten ja tarjoili täyslaidallisen trancen ja housen välimaastoon putoavaa soundiaan. Marcus nähdään livenä Tampereen Stellar City -tapahtumassa viikon kuluttua.

DJ Orionin ensimmäisellä tunnilla kuullaan ensisoitossa JS16:n comeback-biisi Rosegarden 2.0., paljon toivottua jenkkiduo Oliveria, Eric Prydziä, Camo&Krookedia, Tony Jaguaria, remixattua 90-luvun Enigmaa sekä Viikon Vinyyli 20 vuoden takaa vuodelta 1992.

Orkidea - "20" Album Release Tour

Kuopio was cool!

For a moment it seemed I wouldn’t be playing there at all – my flight from Berlin was delayed so badly that I missed the connecting (and last) flight from Helsinki to Kuopio. And due to quite nasty airline regulations my return flight from Kuopio back to Helsinki was cancelled, too.

Luckily there still was one train leaving from Helsinki to Kuopio. Finally after 12 hours of travelling I reached Puijonsarvi and got to the decks three minutes before my set started. Phew…

But it was worth the travel. Alijas had warmed up the place really nicely and it was cool seeing Kuopio go mad to proper electronic music. The highlights for me were Kobana’s & Yane3dots’ new track Woosh, Madeon’s Icarus and Nuta Cookier’s Maschine Groove (Marco Bailey & Tom Hades Remix). It was a nice surprise to see how well technoish sound went down, too. Playing Marco Bailey, Kaiserdisco and Timo Maas for hands-in-the-air Kuopio crowd was unexpected, but awesome.

Orkidea ended the night with nice 2h selection of his own tunes. The new album tunes went down well and it was great to hear a couple of classics like original mix of Unity and Requiem.

Brilliant night, excellent & enthusiastic crowd (Thank You!!) and a long, long trip back home after 1,5h of sleep ;)

Maaliskuun perjantait startataan YleX:llä harvinaisella DJ-setillä. Jose Padilla, legendaarinen baleaarisen musiikin kummisetä ja mies alkuperäisten Cafe Del Mar -kokoelmien taustalta antoi YleX:lle haastattelun ja pyöräytti kasaan XmiXin eksklusiivisesti suomalaisia kuuntelijoitaan varten. Jose Padilla on tähdittämässä Pacifique-allasbileitä Espoon Serenassa 09.03.-10.03.

DJ Orionin ensimmäisellä tunnilla soitossa mm. kahdeksan vuoden tauolta palannutta Orbitalia, tuoreet sinkut Above&Beyondilta ja Paul van Dykilta sekä Prodigya remiksattuna. Suomalaisista uutta musiikkia tarjoilevat Joonas Hahmo, Hemo DJs sekä Audile. Lisäksi kuullaan kaikkien aikojen Pacifique-klassikko.

Headliner Jose Padilla will be featured on YleX’s XmiX on March 2nd – interview and exclusive mix coming up.

I’ll be playing on both Pacifique nights the finishing slot at the main arena together with Orkidea and Mr.A. The full schedule is here.

In addition, there will be the usual After Hours at Playground after both nights. I’ll be testing my endurance behind the decks on Sunday morning with slightly more techno/tech-house influenced set.

Berliinistä Suomeen poikennut miekkonen jättää tältä perjantailta XmiXin pois ja tarjoilee klo 22:00-24:00 kattauksen alkuvuoden parhaita klubibiisejä. Samassa yhteydessä julkaistaan myös Pacifique-skaban voittajat.
