17.06.2011 YleX:n XmiXin ottaa haltuun Suomen teknisesti taitavimpien DJiden joukkoon lukeutuva Supertyyli. Genrerajattomasti musiikkia yhdistelevä miekkonen vakuuttaa tunnin aikana 36 raidan selektiollaan ja kertoo haastattelussa viimeisimmät salaisuudet dekkien takaa. Johtuen YleX:n Provinssin livelähetyksestä, 17.06. kuultava ohjelma on ainoastaan tunnin mittainen ja alkaa klo 23. Supertyylin XmiXin aikana jaetaan lyhyessä skabassa kaksi lippua Netskyn Helsingin keikalle. Samoilla lipuilla pääsee ilmaiseksi myös tapahtuman jatkobileisiin Playgroundiin.

This one should be interesting and lots of fun. I’ll be playing my first (and probably the last;) hard nrg / hard trance set in 10 years or so. I was really into 160bpm+ music in the early 2000, but as I heard already back then, your age and slower bpm often go hand in hand :) But nevertheless, when asked, I felt really good digging the shelves for the old records (yes, this one will be 100% vinyl gig) and sorting out the Cannon, VCF, VCR, Tinrib, Stay Up Forever and Ef.adrine classics and tunes from Lab4, Choci, Mishka, Weirdo, Mauro Picotto and many more.

Photos, Vibes & Video: Prima, Jyväskylä, 29.05.2011

Prima, Jyväskylä. Maanantaiaamu 03:00.

I’m still speechless of the Sunday vibe that Prima had in Jyväskylä on 29.05.2011. I had arrived without expectations, and even though I heard that the party would be good, I’d never expect it would be that good. The promoters KariM and Axxu warmed up the floor with proper underground tech-house/prog vibe and it was really easy to take over after a really well built-up early night.

I must say it’s not that often when you really can musically go just the way you choose without any compromises, but this was just that. My first 45 minutes were all about techno and tech-house, Slam, Kaiserdisco, Butch, Umek etc, before taking the more melodic way towards the final Blur moment (check the video). And all the way, from tech-house to techno, to prog house, some electro and trance vibes the crowd was open-minded and living the Sunday night like there was no Monday in sight.

If you’re in Jyväskylä and there’s Prima night that Sunday, make no mistake, you need to see that. It’s one of the best Sunday clubs in Finland at the moment. Period.

Massive thanks to Kari & Axxu for inviting me over and big, big shouts to Jyväskylä partiee piipls! Brilliant!

Busy weekend coming up – XmiX with Proteus, YleXPop and Prima @ JKL

This looks like a weekend worth waiting. Tonight (Friday) we’ll be getting a special treat from Finnish hard dance master Proteus who delivered a superb XmiX combining industrial, hard trance, acid and techno and shared some secrets in a short interview. Tune in to YleX at 22:00. More info here.

On Saturday, YleX festival called YleXPop takes over the centrum of Helsinki spreading to Lasipalatsi square, Tavastia, Bar Loose and Bio Rex. I’ll be hosting the event at Bio Rex together with Chyde from Mestarisoundi and Matti from Parasta Ennen. Sunday sees no rest as I’ll be travelling to Jyväskylä where club Prima will be having an official summer starter. Despite being a Sunday night club, I’ve heard nothing but rave reviews (literally!) from their events. It’s been a long while I’ve last visited Jyväskylä and the city really brings back some fine memories. Shouts to Pimiö possé and Anchors Up! events, not to forget long lived Niitty crew.
