Perjantaina 13.05. YleX:n XmiX:n puikoissa on yksi Suomen pitkäaikaisimmista ja monipuolisimmista teknoDJistä ja promoottoreista. Hahmo, joka 90-luvun alkumetreillä suorastaan vältteli teknosta utelevia toimittajia, toi Suomeen mm. Jaydeen, Aphex Twinin, Sven Väthin, Robert Milesin, Mobyn ja Prodigyn ja valittiin maailman kolmanneksi parhaaksi DJksi kahdesti DMC-skaboissa. Poika joka toi teknon Suomeen ja nousi sittemmin kotimaan teknoskenen kiistellyimmäksi hahmoksi. YleX:n XmiXissä eksklusiivisesti DJ Eliot Ness. Katso video.

Tracklist: Danceteria, DTM, Helsinki, 06.05.2011

DANCETERIA presents MADE IN FINLAND PT4 06.05.2011 // HELSINKI

Danceteria never fails. After taking a taxi from Yle studios to DTM and driving through totally empty city I couldn’t help thinking would there be party at all going on in DTM. After all, it was the first Friday after Vappu celebrations and the taxi driver was stating that there’s no one going out tonight.

Well, luckily he was wrong. When I arrived to DTM at 00:30 the floor was full and Something Good was pounding their combination of tech-housey tunes and melodic prog tracks to an enthusiastic crowd. I started off with a bit deeper approach, moved pretty quickly to groovey tech-house tracks and dropped in some technoish numbers. DTM’s sound system is just massive and it was great to see rather minimal but groovy tunes such as Max Bett’s Different Foot make people go nuts. However, the track must have been Kaiserdisco’s brilliant Peak Tram which blew off the roof. Snare rolls are back! :)

Massive thanks to Mr.A who invited me in – it was great to return to Danceteria after such a long pause – and Heikki L, who took care of the end of the night with BIG tunes. Not to forget the people who won their Vappu tiredness and showed up – I couldn’t imagine better and more open-minded crowd as in DTM last night.

Perjantaina 29.4. YleX ja DJ Orion tarjoavat vapunodottajille tunnin XmiXin elektronisen musiikin aallonharjalla paistattelevalta Chase & Statukselta. Suomeen toukokuussa saapuva yhtye julkaisi vasta uuden albuminsa “No More Idols”, jonka sinkkulohkaisut ovat soineet tiuhaan YleX:lläkin.

XmiXissä kuullaan tunnin mittainen eksklusiivisesti YleX:ää varten tuotettu miksaus sekä Chase & Statuksen kuulumiset suoraan studiosta.

Tänä perjantaina YleX:llä soitossa mm. uusi remix Justicen Civilizationista, tuoretta musiikkia suomalaisilta Thomas Feijikiltä, Beetseekersiltä ja Henry V:ltä, uudet versiot Energy 52:n Cafe Del Marista sekä Tiltin I Dreamista ja lopun drum’n’bass -tunnelmissa dubstep-käsittelyssä mm. Fatboy Slim.

Toisen tunnin XmiXissä kuullaan tunnin mittainen miksaus viime joulukuussa New Talent DJ Festival -tapahtumasta nousseelta DJ Nikikiltä. Nikiki läpäisi YleX:n erittäin tiukan seulan tapahtuman jälkeen kisaamalla XmiX-paikasta viiden muun DJ:n kanssa ja toimitti lopulta XmiXiin loistavan tech-house -setin.

Ohjelma on kuultavissa jälkikäteen Ylen Areenalla viikon ajan.
