YleX:n perjantai-illassa tällä viikolla jo toiseen otteeseen jaossa kaksi VIP-lippua Whiteout-tapahtumaan Helsingin Kaapelitehtaalle. Vastaa oikein Sander van Doorniin liittyvään kysymykseen ja voita liput itsellesi ja kaverillesi. Ensimmäisellä tunnilla lisäksi haastattelussa Rave Saves -hyväntekeväisyystapahtuman isäntä Markus Rauramo ja lautasilla mm. Tiesto, Axwell, Lange, Netsky ja Justice sekä suomalaisista Muffler, Rico Tubbs, Beetseekers, Labtracks, Winkee ja Kajis.
XmiXissä kuullaan erittäin spesiaali haastattelu sekä tunnin miksaus Whiteout-tapahtuman päätähdeksi saapuvalta hollantilaiselta Sander van Doornilta. Sander kertoo kuulumisia tulevan albuminsa valmisteluista, Love is Darkness -sinkun synnystä, keikkakokemuksistaan sekä fiilistelee tulevaa keikkaansa Helsingissä.

Amazing party on Saturday in Seinäjoki. 700 people packed to a two-dancefloor venue, the other floor serving the finest dubstep, breaks & drum’n’bass and other being mainly house/trance four-on-the-floor madness. I started with Ashley Wallbridge’s intro version of Gareth Emery’s Arrival, continued in a more proghouse mood and after a couple of more technoish numbers ended the night with some well known trance tunes. It was a pleasure to see 4 Strings version of Slusnik Luna’s going down really fine as well as Feijk’s & Davidson’s Buzz Kill and (naturally) Chase&Status – Blind Faith as an encore.
Big, big thank-yous to everyone coming there and making the night that special and hats off to Fiksaatio possé (always a pleasure to be there!) and my fellow jocks Timo, Sami, Genki and co.

Huhtikuun perjantai-illat aloitetaan YleX:llä isolla vaihteella. Soitossa mm. Justicen uunituore sinkku, puhelinskabassa jaossa kaksi VIP-lippua tämän vuoden Labyrinth/Laserpoint/Whiteout-tapahtumaan Helsingin Kaapelitehtaalle, ensimmäinen poiminta Solarstonen uudelta Electronic Architecture2 -kokoelmalta ja Viikon Vinyylinä ajankohtaisesti japanilainen artisti.
Kakkostunnilla jatkaa viikottainen, tunnin mittainen XmiX-sarja. XmiX-osuudella kuullaan joka viikko Suomen ja ulkomaiden lupaavimman DJ-parhaimmiston eksklusiivisia miksauksia. Huhtikuun XmiXit aloittaa erittäin ajavalla housesetillä Oulun Timo Juuti. Wicked Recordsia yhdessä Sami Saaren kanssa pyörittävä ja osana Syna– ja Deck Jagger-kokoonpanoja toimiva Juuti kertoo terveiset Pohjois-Suomen housepääkaupungista ja pyöräyttää XmiXissä viimeisimmät rytmit suoraan studiolta.

Maaliskuun viimeisessä perjantai-illassa YleX:llä soitossa mm. Faithless, Deadmau5 remiksaamassa Foo Fightersia, pari valintaa uudelta Gareth Emeryn remix-albumilta, Above & Beyondin uusi sinkku sekä suomalaiset Super8 & Tab, Beach X, Tom Fall, Rico Tubbs ja LAOS. Lisäksi haastattelussa Seinäjoella Fiksaatio-klubia luotsaava Toni Kurkimäki.
Viikon XmiXissä vaikuttaa helsinkiläiskaksikko Bright Shades, joka pyöräyttää huiman 80- ja 90-lukuvaikutteilla maustetun housesetin. Tämän hetken kotimaisen houseskenen näkyvimpiin nousijoihin kuuluva kaksikko kertoo kuulumiset studiosta ja luovii XmiXissä sujuvasti mm. HIMin, TV Offin, Robynin, Daft Punkin, Lennon ja Diana Rossin musiikkia yhdistellen.

Dj Orion & J. Shore – Architect’s Dream (EA2 Dub) by solarstone
Two years ago this month Solarstone released the compilation album ‘Electronic Architecture’. It was nominated for Best Compilation at the 2010 IDMAs and won press plaudits for its imaginative concept, with Tilllate hailing it as “a magical blend of music, art and design” and DJ Mag calling it “a genuine gem”.
Now the follow up to the boundary breaking compilation adventure is near. “Electronic Architecture²” captures the essence of what we all love about trance” says MIXMAG. The compilation will be released on 25.4.2011.

I don’t know if you saw this one already, it’s been all over internet for a week or so. A new Justice track and a new Adidas commercial. Some have been saying they don’t want a sports ad, they just want to D.A.N.C.E, but I’d say this one here is brilliant. Can’t wait for the upcoming album.
