Helmikuun perjantai-illat startataan YleX:llä 04.02.2011 vahvasti suomalaisissa tunnelmissa. Ensisoitossa Bright Shadesin uusi sinkku Top Billin’ -kokoonpanon levylafkalla, Tom Fallin tuleva julkaisu, Marcus Maisonin & Will Dragenin tuore remix sekä Heikki L:n ja Lovetonen uudelleenversiointi Pushin “Universal Nation” -ysäritrancehitistä. Biisivieraana Joonas Hahmo kertomassa uudesta Western-sinkustaan ja lopputunnin trancetunnelmissa kurkataan, miltä kuulosti Mike Koglin vuosina 1998 ja 2011. Puhelinhaastattelussa lisäksi Bujashaka-klubin promoottori Sami Silto sekä Northern Legacy -tapahtuman järjestäjä Jan Baas.

Ohjelmassa myös Smoldering City -skaba, jossa on mahdollisuus oikein vastaamalla napata itselleen kaksi lippua Turussa järjestettävään samannimiseen tapahtumaan. 19.2. Turun Klubilla järjestettävässä Smoldering Cityssä esiintyvät Nick Warren, Danny Howells sekä Homegrove.

Kakkostunnilla jatkaa viikottainen, tunnin mittainen XmiX-sarja. XmiX-osuudella kuullaan joka viikko Suomen ja ulkomaiden lupaavimman DJ-parhaimmiston eksklusiivisia miksauksia. Helmikuun XmiX-sessiot avaa Yhdysvalloista tavoitettu Darude tiukalla tunnin trancepaketilla. Mukana uusimmat julkaisut mieheltä itseltään ja herran pyörittämältä EnMass-levymerkiltä sekä viimeisimmät tuulet jenkkien tranceklubeilta.

Ohjelma on kuultavissa jälkikäteen Ylen Areenalla viikon ajan.

YleX:n tammikuun perjantai-illat päättää 28.01. klo 22:00 kahden tunnin musiikkikattaus eklektistä elektronista musiikkia. Ensimmäisellä tunnilla soitossa ensimmäistä kertaa remix Sunrise Avenuen Hollywood Hillsistä sekä Uuden Fantasian Growing Pain-raidasta. Remikseistä vastaa Heikki L. Ensi-illassa lisäksi Joonas Hahmon uusi Western-sinkku ja biisivieraana viikonloppuna Turkuun rantautuva puolalainen Tom Glass. Puhelimessa promoottori Marko Kantola, katsauksessa tulevat Playgroundin 2-vuotis-kekkerit.

Kakkostunnilla jatkaa viikottainen, tunnin mittainen XmiX-sarja. XmiX-osuudella kuullaan joka viikko Suomen ja ulkomaiden lupaavimman DJ-parhaimmiston eksklusiivisia miksauksia. Rave – The Game

This is crazy. Anyone have a copy?

“Rave was a board game that was created by WOW Enterprises in 1991. It contains a section designed by Jamie Hewlett of Gorillaz/Tank Girl fame and went on to sell over 20,000 copies until it was withdrawn from the shelves by WHSmiths.

The idea of the game was to drive around looking for fliers and “energy” tablets. Once the player had accumulated enough tablets, they could then proceed to their rave and dance, until they collected all three sections of the WOW Tryptich. Other pieces included ‘Vibe Cards’, stash bags, a rave cassette and ‘rave site markers’.

WOW Enterprises are currently working on an MMORPG based around the game. More pictures and a link here.”

Teostoa (ja Gramexia) tapaamassa #3

Kolmas Teosto-tapaaminen pidettiin yhdessä Gramexin edustajan kanssa 18.1.2011. Koska Gramex ei ollut osallistunut aikaisempiin tapaamisiin, iso osa palaverista meni tilanteen päivittämiseen sen sijasta että oltaisiin liikuttu samaan tahtiin eteenpäin kuin aikaisemmissa tapaamisissa.

* Koska tällä hetkellä kotimaassa mekanisoitujen äänitteiden soittaminen ei ole sallittua ulkomailla, Teosto selvittää mahdollista globaalia mekanisointilisenssiä. Mahdollisuuksia tähän on ja lähtökohdat tulisivat olla mahdollisimman yksinkertaset DJ:lle. Huomautin, että mikäli globaali lisenssi tekee mekanisointimaksusta kalliimpaa, tämä ei saisi vaikuttaa niiden DJiden maksuihin, jotka eivät ulkomailla keikkaile.

* Puhuttiin klubimusiikin soittotulojen kohdistamisesta oikein. Sekä Teoston että Gramexin mielestä Seratosta ulossaatava data näyttää hyvältä ja mahdolliselta hyväksikäyttää tulevaisuudessa. Kuitenkin parhaaseen kohdistusprosenttiin päästään tällä hetkellä ja pienimmällä vaivalla käyttämällä kohdistusreferenssinä Bassoradiosta tulevia raportteja sekä YleX:n perjantai-illan ohjelman raportteja. Tällöin siis näitä radioraportteja käytetään apuna kohdistaessa niiden klubien Teostotuottoja, joissa klubimusiikin soitto on korkeaa. Teosto pyrkii tehokkaasti identifioimaan ko. klubit.

* Tällä hetkellä Teostolla radioraportteja käsittelee kolme henkilöä, yli 90% soitetusta musiikista saadaan kohdistettua oikein. Kohdistamattomat esitykset edustavat asemia, jotka soittavat valtavirrasta poikkeavaa ja uutta materiaalia, joista Teostolla ei ole vielä tietoa.

* Gramex on poistanut raportoinnin suurimmasta lisenssistään. Raportointivelvollisuus poistui vuoden 2011 alusta. (Woohoo!)

* Varmuuskopiointi: Teoston DJ-sopimukseen ei ole kirjattu hyväksymisestä mitään, mutta varmuuskopiointi hyväksytään. Gramexilla sama juttu. Varmuuskopioita voi pitää soittotilanteessa mukana. Varmuuskopioksi osoittamiseksi riittää kansion/kovalevyn nimeäminen varmuuskopiokäyttöön sopivalla nimellä. Samoin mukana soittotilanteessa saa olla henkilökohtaisia kappaleita – nekin tulee pitää omassa folderissaan tai muuten erotella.

* Toisin kuin Teosto, Gramex ei tällä hetkellä tarjoa “voimassa toistaiseksi” -sopimusta, mutta harkitsee sen tarjoamista. Gramexilla osamaksu on mahdollista samaan tapaan kuin Teostolla, mutta siitä tulee olla erikseen yhteydessä Gramexiin ja pyytää sen mahdollistamista.

YleX:n perjantai-illassa tällä viikolla 21.01. klo 22:00 kahden tunnin musiikkikattaus tech-housesta tranceen ja drum’n’bassiin. Ensimmäisellä tunnilla soitossa mm. Daft Punk, Ian Ossia, Daniel Portman, Danny Byrd, Logistics, Arty, Solid Globe sekä naftaliinista kaivettu Viikon Vinyyli. Biisivieraina helsinkiläinen tuottaja, DJ ja viihteen moniammattilainen Mr.A sekä vanhan koulun tranceduo Slusnik Luna .

Kakkostunnilla jatkaa viikottainen, tunnin mittainen XmiX-sarja. XmiX-osuudella kuullaan joka viikko Suomen ja ulkomaiden lupaavimman DJ-parhaimmiston eksklusiivisia miksauksia. Vuoden kolmannessa XmiX-sessiossa YleX sheikkaa tamperelaisen DJ Flightin erittäin grooven tech-house -setin tahdissa.
