Clinic NYE 2010

Great party last night @ Tivoli. Fun fact: none of the main room jocks was playing CDs anymore. Instead, Super8&Tab took advantage of SD-cards, Orkidea plugged in Traktor software and I went with two USB sticks. That’s so 2011. I wonder with what we’ll be playing in 2015…? :)

Uusi viikottainen elektronisen musiikin ohjelma alkaa YleX:llä 07.01.2011.

Hyviä uutisia. Aloitan vuonna 2011 YleX:n perjantai-illoissa jokaviikkoisen kaksituntisen elektronisen musiikin ohjelman. Ohjelmaslotti elektroniselle musiikille on erinomainen: Lähetys on joka perjantai klo 22:00 eteenpäin, heti Parasta Ennen -ohjelman jälkeen, joka on kanavan suosituimpia ohjelmia. Elektroninen musiikki on YleX:llä viimein 10 vuoden tauon jälkeen siellä missä kuuluukin – eli starttaamassa viikonloppua.

Kaksituntisessa skaalataan ensimmäisellä tunnilla varsin genrerajattomasti elektronista musiikkia dubstepistä teknoon ja tranceen. Kakkostunti on varattu tunnin “XmiX”-nimeä kantavalle miksaukselle, jossa esitellään suomalainen tai ulkomaalainen kiinnostava artisti ja hänen YleX:ää varten tuottamansa eksklusiivinen miksaus.

Ensimmäisellä tunnilla kuullaan joka viikko puhelinhaastatteluja, biisivieraita, naftaliinista kaivettuja viikon vinyylivalintoja sekä kyseisen viikonlopun klubi- ja tapahtumatärpit. Iso paino on kotimaisessa elektronisessa musiikissa. Kotimaan viralliset ja epäviralliset elektronisen musiikin julkaisut saavat entistä enemmän soittoaikaa YleX:llä. Biisejä voi tarjota soittoon Radio-sivun Dropboxin kautta.

Jokainen kaksituntinen on kuunneltavissa uudelleen Ylen Areenalla viikon ajan aina seuraavaan lähetykseen saakka. Osia musiikkisisällöistä kuullaan myös DJ Orionin podcastin kautta. Tulevat XmiX-vieraat voi vakoilla kalenterin puolelta ja biisilistat ja muut infot löytyvät aina Radio-sivulta.

Uusi ohjelma starttaa YleX:llä 7.1.2011.

Download: Inception – augmented sound iPhone app from Zimmer, Nolan and Breidenbrücker

This is a pretty cool way to experience Inception movie soundtrack as well as some exclusive pieces of music by Hans Zimmer.

You might have tried some augmented reality applications which mostly combine the camera and GPS of your phone in order to give some more information of your location, but this is – at least what I know of – the first augmented sound application for a mobile phone.

Inception The App transports Inception The Movie straight into your life. New dreams can be unlocked in many ways, for example by walking, being in a quiet room, while traveling or when the sun shines. You will get realtime musical experiences, featuring new and exclusive music from the Inception soundtrack composed by Hans Zimmer. This app is the first result of Christopher Nolan, Hans Zimmer and Michael Breidenbrückers’ collaboration using augmented sound.

YleX:n itsenäisyyspäivän DJ-ohjelmassa laaja suomikattaus

Vuoden 2010 itsenäisyyspäivän illassa YleX:llä soi roima kattaus uutta elektronista musiikkia housesta tranceen ja drum’n’bassiin, päivän linjan mukaisesti kovalla kotimaisella painotuksella. Lautasilla kotimaisista mm. Sami Saari, Michael Cassette, Something Good, Muffler, Top Billin’ -labelin uutuus Adam Bozzettolta sekä Iio, Kosheen, Ben Preston, Solarity ja Jon O’Bir.

Joulukuun lähetys on myös viimeinen DJ Orionin maanantaishow YleX:llä. Vuoden 2011 alusta ohjelma siirtyy perjantai-iltaan ja muuttuu kaksituntiseksi. Muutoksista lisää ohjelmassa.

YleX:n DJ-ohjelmassa uusintana tekno- ja oldskool -spesiaali. Klubikaupunkikatsauksessa Turku.

Maanantaina 22.11. YleX:n DJ-ohjelmassa palataan 90-luvun teknon maisemiin. Lautasille nousee koko joukko ruotsitekno- ja monotrax-klassikoita pientä acid-annosta unohtamatta. Millaista musiikkia Ferry Corsten teki Tellurians-aliaksella ennen tranceuraansa? Entä Felix da Housecatin menneisyys Aphrohead-aliaksen takana? Ja Joris Voornin tuotanto ennen siirtymistä tech houseen?

Soitossa myös vanhaa Suomi-soundia Marko Laineelta, klassikoita Adam Beyerilta, Acid Junkiesilta, Green Velvetiltä, Jeff Millsiltä, Hardfloorilta ja Thomas Kromelta. Lisäksi 26 raitaa käsittävässä kokonaisuudessa kuullaan koko Dave Clarken legendaarinen Red-sarja, X-trax- ja STX-labeleiden ensimmäisen julkaisut ja musiikkia Tresor-levymerkin alkumetreiltä.

Kuukauden klubikaupunkiosuudessa käväistään Turussa, jonka menneisyydestä iso osa Suomen oldskool-teknoskeneä on ponnistanut. Nyt tarkastellaan kuitenkin kaupungin klubiskenen nykyisyyttä ja tulevaisuutta – haastattelussa Turun Klubin Seppo Tahvanainen.

Ohjelma on uusinta heinäkuulta 2010.
