YleX:n perjantai-illassa mennään lokakuun loppua kohden isolla vaihteella. DJ Orionin ensimmäisellä tunnilla eksklusiivisessa ensisoitossa mm. Maison & Dragenin uusi sinkku Hour of the Wolf sekä DJ Orkidean remix Paul Oakenfoldin legendaarisesta Southern Sun -kappaleesta. Lisäksi kuullaan Heavyweight DJsien Neverland-anthem, uutta mashuppia Lennolta, 501 remiksaamassa Redramaa, Muffler remiksaamassa Rinneradiota sekä uunituoretta Eric Prydziä.

Toisella tunnilla noustaan napapiirin tuntumaan ja otetaan tunnin katsaus pohjoisen hard dance -skeneen DJ Macion johdolla. Pohjois-Suomessa erinomaisesti menestyneen Innowation-klubin isäntä kertoi Rovaniemen klubikuulumiset ja pyöräytti loistavan selektion raskaampaa poljentoa perjantai-illan päätteeksi.

281 is a 4,5h chill-out mix, compiled during this autumn. It includes some of my favorite tracks from the past two years, a couple of classics and some Orion & J.Shore tracks, too. Musically, the vibe goes from ambient to downtempo and further to a bit more orchestral chill-out tunes in the end.

281 is a sequel for the “323” mix I did in late 2009. 323 was over 5h long and it’s still online in case you want to download and have a listen.

YleX:n perjantai-ilta sukeltaa jälleen tuoreimpiin klubimusiikin vesiin kahdeksi tunniksi. DJ Orionin ensimmäisellä tunnilla soitossa mm. uunituore remix The Killersin Mr. Brightsidesta sekä kotimaiset Super8&Tab, Audile, Kayan Code, Mystery Islands ja SamHard vs Meke. Viikon Vinyylissä palataan Felix Da Housecatin tuotantoon vuodelta 1993 ja Viikon Uutuus puolestaan esittelee uunituoretta soundia Ranskan Madeonilta.

XmiXin valtaa tällä viikolla Suomen uskottavin discomatelija Koobra. Erinomaisia julkaisuja tehtaileva herra pyöräytti XmiXiin läjän julkaisematonta nu-discoa ja 80-luku -henkistä ranskahousea ja kertoi ovatko Koobrat myrkyllisiä vai enemmän kuristajatyyppiä.

Ohjelmassa startataan myös Neverland -skaba, jossa jaossa hurja täyden palvelun bilepaketti Oulun minifestareille.

YleX:n perjantai-illassa kuullaan tällä viikolla pitkän linjan housetuottaja Heikki L:n XmiX. Nykyisin Summer Sound Festivalin, Colors Festivalin ja We Like -klubin promoottorina toimiva herra toimitti erinomaisen groovaavan selektion tämän päivän tiukinta tech-housea ja kertoi haastattelussa mitä kuuluu omille musaprojekteille ja ensi kesän Summer Soundille.

DJ Orionin ensimmäisellä tunnilla soitossa mm. kotimaiset Orkidea, Something Good, Turismo, Alex Kunnari, Maison & Dragen, Audile, Darude, Kayan Code, Mystery Islands sekä Viikon Vinyylinä Tampere-trancea takavuosilta.

Ohjelmassa startataan myös We Like -skaba, jossa jaossa lippuja Jay Lumenin keikalle 27.10.2012.

Gramex raottaa verhoa tulevan DJ-lisenssiuudistuksen tiimoilta

Gramexin Lauri Kaira kirjoittaa viimeisimmässä Gramexin asiakaslehdessä tulevasta DJ-lisenssiuudistuksesta. Pääasiassa aihealue pyörii jo päivitetyn liikunnanohjaajalisenssin ympärillä, mutta muutamia DJ:itä läheltä liippaaviakin pointteja on.

Liikunnanohjaajien kohdalla maksu on mahdollistettu niin, että kuntosalit voisivat hoitaa maksut tulevaisuudessa liikunnanohjaajien sijaan. On todennäköistä, että Gramex pyrkii, että tulevaisuudessa ravintolat hoitaisivat DJ:iden sijasta DJ-lisenssimaksut samaan tapaan.

Ongelmalliseksi tämän mallin erityisesti DJille tekee vaihtuvat työpaikat. Jos DJ kiertää useissa ravintoloissa soittamassa ja niistä yksi kieltäytyy maksamasta lisenssiä DJ:n puolesta, joutuisi DJ tällöin hankkimaan lisenssin itse. Lisenssikäytännön yksinkertaistamisen tai poistamisen sijaan Gramex siirtää tälle taktiikalla lisensseistä aiheutuvat erimielisyydet ravintolan ja DJ:n välille uudistamatta käytännössä tuotettaan lainkaan.

Artikkelissa puhutaan, että “DJ-porukan kanssa keskustelut etenevät hyvässä hengessä”. Mikä tämä “DJ-porukka” mahtaa olla? Tätä ihmeteltiin myös Facebookissa olevassa DJ-groupissa, joka kattaa varsin suuren osan tämän hetken aktiivisimpia suomalaisia DJitä. Gramex ei ole tietääkseni ollut yhteenkään heistä yhteydessä.

Kaira kirjoittaa: “Gramexissa odotetaan nyt innolla miten kenttä ottaa uudet ideat vastaan.” Ehkä tässä puhutaan liikunnanohjaajista, ehkä DJistä, mutta artikkelin pohjalta jää hieman epäselväksi, mitä ne “uudet ideat” loppujenlopuksi ovat. Ottamalla mukaan uusia maksuvaihtoehtoja ja uusia maksajia, Gramex monimutkaistaa lisenssiviidakkoa entisestään.

Katson tarpeelliseksi, että lanseeratessaan DJ-lisenssiuudistuksen, Gramex ottaisi julkisesti kantaa miksei yhteistä lisenssiä Teoston kanssa ole pystytty luomaan ja miten Gramex aikoo tilittää DJiltä kerätyt rahat oikeille artisteille. Näiltä osin suosittelen tutustumaan Argumentteihin DJ-lisenssimallin poistamisen puolesta.

YleX:n XmiXissä kuullaan tällä viikolla erittäin eksklusiivinen livenauhoite Daruden Loimaan keikalta viime kesältä. Tiukkoja mashuppeja ja viimeisintä trancesoundia Loimaan lakeuksilla tarjoillut Darude saatiin kiinni XmiX-haastatteluun miehen salaisesta piilopaikasta Pohjois-Carolinasta, mihin mies on vetäytynyt työstämään uutta albumiaan. Daruden XmiX ja haastattelu kuullaan klo 23:00 eteenpäin.
