It’s happening!
In early 2011 we made an unofficial remix of London Elektricity’s hit “Just One Second”.In April, Chris Coco supported it on his radio show and a bit later London Elektricity himself gave his approval for the remix. Now, after tons of licensing related emails and great work from our label Silk (thanks Gorm, Jacob and Max!) we finally are signing the contracts with Hospital Records and making it possible to release “Just One Second (Orion & J.Shore remix)” on our debut album, coming out in late 2011.

YleX:n perjantai-illan XmiX-vieraana on perjantaina 23.09. saksalainen huikeassa nosteessa oleva tranceartisti Dennis Sheperd. Berliinissä asuva ja viime viikolla debyyttialbuminsa julkaissut Sheperd kertoo haastattelussa fiiliksiään nopeasta noususta huipulle ja pyöräyttää XmiXissä koko tunnin kattauksen omaa trancetuotantoaan.
DJ Orionin ensimmäisellä tunnilla jaetaan palkinnot viime viikolla käynnistyneeseen Dennis Sheperd -aiheiseen kilpailuun, kuunnellaan DJ Shadown antama haastattelu ja tsekataan ote miehen tulevalta albumilta. Lisäksi soitossa on uutta musiikkia mm. Eric Prydziltä, Cosmokselta, Thomas Feijkiltä, Junkie XL:ltä, Justicelta, Rico Tubbsilta ja Mufflerilta sekä Viikon Vinyyli vuodelta 1998. Ohjelma on DJ Orionin sadas YleX-lähetys ja livenä Berliinistä.
Ohjelma on kuultavissa jälkikäteen Ylen Areenalla viikon ajan.

16.09.2011 YleX:n perjantai-illassa DJ Orionilla trancetähti Dennis Sheperdin debyyttialbumiin liittyvä skaba. Jaossa on kaksi miehen pian julkaistavaa pitkäsoittoa. Lisäksi lautasilla uutta musiikkia Gareth Emerylta, Man With No Namelta, Fedde Le Grandilta, LAOSilta ja Mirco De Govialta. Suomiartisteista soitossa Tony Jaguarin ja Thomas Feijkin tulevat sinkut.
Myös XmiX palaa suomiartistien pariin viime viikkojen ferrycorsteenien ja londonelektricityjen jälkeen. Perjantai-illan viimeisellä tunnilla XmiX-dekkeihin tarttuu houseartisti De Souza, joka vakuutti osaamisellaan alkuvuodesta järjestetyssä New Talent DJ Festival -tapahtumassa. De Souza hellii kuulijoilta hieman deepimmällä houseselektiolla.

Trancen supertähti Ferry Corsten Colors-klubille
Syyskuisen, Helsingin The Circuksessa järjestettävän Colors -klubin pääesiintyjänä nähdään saksalais-hollantilainen trancen supertähti Ferry Corsten. Corsten on yksi trance -genren tunnetuimmista ja pisimmän uran luoneista artisteista. Hän aloitti uransa 1991 tuottamalla hardcore-kappaleita, mutta siirtyi varsin nopeasti trancen pariin. 1990 -luvun loppuun mennessä hän oli noussut yhdeksi mailman suosituimmista trance-DJ:stä. Hänen suurin hittinsä on vuonna 2001 System F -nimellä julkaistu “Out of the Blue”. Hänet tunnetaan myös Tsunami Recordin ja Flashover Recordsin johtotehtävistä. Corsten on myös yksi maailman tuottelijaimmista trance -artisteista. Hän on julkaissut seitsemän albumia, ja lukemattoman määrän menestyssinglejä eri aliaksilla kuten Ferr, System F, The Tellurians, Vimana ja Goyruella. Hän on myös työskennellyt useiden hyvin tunnettujen vokalistien kanssa, näistä nimekkäimpinä Marc Almond ja Robert Smith.
Corstenin lisäksi tapahtumassa nähdään vaikuttava lista kotimaisia elektronisen musiikin huippuja. Lavalla nousevat Alex Kunnari, Proteus, Orion, Heikki L, K-System, Lovetone, Tom Fall, Ali Darian, Johnny Wilde ja Käpä.

London Elektricity esiintyy Helsingin Club YK:lla perjantaina 16.9.2011.

Real Scenes is a series of films, supported by and conceived with Bench, in which we explore the musical, cultural and creative climate within electronic music’s key destinations. We’ll look at the role singular figureheads—producers, DJs, promoters—play in making their city’s music scene a point of world-wide interest. We’ll also look at places, spaces and inspirations, seeking out the essence of what gives these hyper-local scenes a truly global resonance.
Berlin has always been a special place, and especially so when it comes to electronic music. When the Berlin Wall came down in 1989, techno became the underground soundtrack to the reunion between East and West. In recent years, it’s become an international destination for ravers—a cheap place to party with clubs that are renowned throughout the world.
Techno has become a business in the meantime. Yet Berlin still maintains a credibility that other cities lack. To understand why, RA and Bench have teamed up for another edition of Real Scenes. We went to the German capital eager to find out about its unique history and the reasons behind its continued relevance.
