YleX:n perjantai-illan XmiX-osuuden kaappaa itselleen Suomen tunnetuin trancekaksikko ja maailmalla huikeaa suosiota nauttiva Super8 & Tab. Duo on juuri julkaisemassa remixalbumin vajaa vuosi sitten päivänvalon nähneestä debyyttialbumi Empiresta ja XmiXissä kuullaan ensisoitossa useita kappaleita pitkäsoitolta. Haastattelussa kaverukset kertovat myös tulevista Suomen keikkasuunnitelmistaan. Kuuntele otteita tulevalta Empire Remixed -albumilta.

DJ Orionin ensimmäisellä tunnilla lautasilla mm. Foster The People, Labtracks, Michael Cassette, Protoculture, 501, Camo & Crooked, Viikon Vinyyli ja Viikon Uutuus. Vieraana Fantasia-tapahtuman promoottori Toni Kurkimäki, joka laittaa skaban muodossa jakoon kahdet liput vesipuistobileisiin.

YleX:n perjantai-illan lähetys kajahtaa jälleen klo 22:00 livenä Berliinistä. Heinäkuun viimeiset tanssit tarjoilee XmiXissä Tampereelta maailmalle ponnistanut Joonas Hahmo. Joonas pyörittää levyjen lisäksi myös omaa Hahmo Recordings -levy-yhtiötä ja XmiX koostuukin lähes kokonaan aiemmin julkaisemattomista raidoista. Kuuntele myös klippi Joonaksen elokuun alussa kauppoihin saapuvasta Banana Split -sinkusta.

DJ Orionin ensimmäisellä tunnilla klo 22-23 haastattelussa saksalainen tekno- ja tech-housesankari Butch sekä Summer Sound Festivalia työstävä Alex Kunnari. Soitossa lisäksi mm. tulevaa Top Billin’ -levymerkin materiaalia, ensimmäinen lohkaisu Super8&Tabin tulevalta remixalbumilta, dubstep-pöristelyä Mufflerilta sekä Viikon Uutuus.

YleX:n perjantai-illat palaavat jälleen Berliiniin, kun luvassa on toinen livelähetys Euroopan klubikulttuurin kehdosta. XmiX-artistina häärii tällä kertaa Ylivieska.org-kokoonpanon johtohahmo ja Pohjois-Suomen klubikulttuurista ponnistanut DJ Jangler. Jangler pyöräyttää tunnin aikana kaksi XmiXiä – ensimmäinen luotaa viimeisimpiä elektrohouseraitoja ja toisella puolikkaalla palataan 90-luvun oldskool- ja ravetunnelmiin. Tsekkaa video Janglerin keikalta Kokkolan underground-bileistä.

DJ Orionin ensimmäisellä tunnilla klo 22-23 soitossa mm. Lenno, Dinka, Tilt, Arty, Solarstone, Orkidea, Oliver Smith, Sander van Doorn, Pendulum, The Prodigy, Viikon Uutuus ja Viikon Vinyyli.

Perjantaina 15.7.2011 YleX:n XmiX-deckkeihin tarttuu brittiläinen DJ Sasha. Maailman parhaaksi DJ:ksi Migmagin äänestyksessä valittu ja jo vuonna ’89 ensimmäisen DJ-residenssinsä Hacienda-klubilla tehnyt Sasha on edelleen klubimaailman terävimmän kärjen trendsettereitä. Mixmag valitsi Sashan hiljattain “Kaikkien aikojen 10 suurinta DJ:tä” -listalle – nykyisestä kotikaupungistaan New Yorkista tavoitettu Sasha kertoo tuntuuko 30 vuoden levyjensoittamisen jälkeen moinen titteli enää missään ja paljastaa haastattelussa mm. Involver-albumisarjansa jatkosuunnitelmista.

Sashan haastattelu ja tunnin XmiX kuullaan klo 23. Ohjelma on Ilosaarirock-livestä johtuen ainoastaan tunnin mittainen.

Sasha esiintyy Love-tapahtumassa Helsingin Circuksessa 23.7.2011.

Busy weekend ahead: 9 Opening, Summer Heat, Sasha XmiX, Tampere Rave City…

This weekend sees the most hectic schedule of the summer of 2011.

Friday: “9 – The Opening” @ Esplanadi, Helsinki

On Friday I’ll take a flight from Berlin to Helsinki to join the private event “9 – The Opening”. UU guys (which you might remember from last year’s UU Island) will be constructing a 400m2 venue on Esplanadi with Open Bar (drinks by Tuukka Ahonen & co.), some 4 hour lounge/house/electronica vibes from me and other surprises. It’s a semi private event, but if you can get an invitation to the Facebook event somewhere, it means you’re in. I still have 10 invitations left – if you want one, mail me your email address (it has to be the same you use for logging to Facebook) and I’ll mail you the invitation. The invitation includes avec.

Friday: Summer Heat, Vanhan YO-talon terassi, Helsinki

Right after UU closes its doors, I’ll head to Vanha. Summer Heat has gained lots of support this summer and is definitely one of the nicest weekly terrace events in Helsinki to check out. It’s not lounging but some seriously fun house music biznezz, grab your dance shoes and join the Gude Laune. I’ll be starting at 01:00. Check the Facebook event for more details.

XmiX: Sasha (UK)

If you can’t make it to the events, make sure to tune in to YleX at 23:00 for a weekly musical journey of XmiX. Sasha – the headliner of Love event in Circus on 23.7. – will be delivering a one hour crazycool XmiX and telling some news (for example about Involver 3) on the interview. In case you can’t check it live, you can always listen to it on Yle Areena on-demand one week after the broadcast.

Saturday: Tampere Rave City

After some 7 hours of DJing on Friday, I’ll take the train to the middle of Tampere-fiilis on this year’s Tammerfest craziness. This time the rave spirit takes over Pyynikin palloiluhalli with danish Funkstar DeLuxe headlining and Finnish Alex Kunnari, Joonas Hahmo, Tremont and me doing the warmup. Sunday?! I have this image before my eyes of sitting totally wrecked on the flight back to Berlin. It seems I have lots to catch up to gain the normal Berlin clubbing endurance.
