Orion & J.Shore – Isolatedmix 35
A Strangely Isolated Place, a website, label and online community of ambient, chill-out and downtempo music, asked us (Orion & J.Shore) to make a mix for their Isolatedmix series. Isolatedmix is like Global Underground of the chill-out scene: artists like Ulrich Schnauss, Nick Warren, Carbon Based Lifeforms and Helios have contributed their own Isolatedmixes.
The mix is now online and streamable/downloadable on Soundcloud. It includes 18 tracks – mostly Scandinavian chill-out, some unreleased tracks and some tunes made exclusively for this mix only. I’m very happy of the result. I hope you enjoy it too.

Like the massive spectrum of music in my head, Finnish brothers Orion and J.Shore usually sit at opposite ends on the music production front. Juska (Orion), grew up on the early 90′s hypnotic trance sound such as Cygnus X’s album “Hypermetrical” and Sven Väth’s “The Harlequin – The Robot And The Ballet-Dancer” and for the past five years has hosted a variety of electronic music on his National Finnish Radio show. In a vein I can very much relate to, these early 90′s records…

Viikonloppu startataan YleX:llä erittäin spesiaalin lähetyksen merkeissä. DJ Orionin ensimmäisellä tunnilla soitossa on mm. lauantaina debyyttikeikalle Helsinkiin saapuvan Protoculturen uusi sinkku eksklusiivisessa Suomen ensi-illassa. Lisäksi kuullaan Joonas Hahmon uusi raita Reactor, joka on kerännyt reilusti huomiota mm. Hardwelliltä sekä Super8&Tabin tuleva raita Teardrop, myös kotimaisessa ensisoitossa.
XmiXissä karataan luonnottomiin BPM-lukemiin, kun perjantai-illan viimeiset rytmit toimittaa freeform-sanansaattaja Substanced. Pian remix-albuminsa julkaiseva herra kertoo haastattelussa rankemman soundin nykytilasta Suomessa ja pyöräyttää klo 23 eteenpäin vuoden 2013 ensimmäisen ja erinomaisen tiukan hard dance -XmiXin.
Osallistu myös Empire-skabaan, jossa jaossa VIP-lippuja Above&Beyondin Helsingin keikalle, CDitä ja T-paitoja.

Helmikuun ensimmäinen perjantai-ilta YleX:llä tarjoilee kattauksen uutta elektronista musiikkia nu-discosta tiukkaan tranceen ja drum’n’bassiin. Soitossa mm. kotimaiset Koobra, Tony Jaguar, Illuvial, Sampl, Hemo DJs ja Peetu S ja ulkomaanvahvistukset High Contrast, Knife Party ja Jjoo. Viikon Vinyylinä takavuosien julkaisu Paul van Dykin Vandit-lafkalta.
XmiX-dekeissä soi Suomen urheilullisin DJ-duo Something Good. Triathloneja ja maratoneja aamupalaksi naposteleva kaksikko pyöräytti XmiXiä varten erittäin kesäisen setin ja on juuri lähdössä Saksan suuntaan keikkailemaan. Haastattelussa kuullaan rasvanpolton salaisuuksien lisäksi myös Something Goodin kimppaprojekteista kotimaisen Sansan kanssa.

Like the massive spectrum of music in my head, Finnish brothers Orion and J.Shore usually sit at opposite ends on the music production front. Juska (Orion), grew up on the early 90′s hypnotic trance sound such as Cygnus X’s album “Hypermetrical” and Sven Väth’s “The Harlequin – The Robot And The Ballet-Dancer” and for the past five years has hosted a variety of electronic music on his National Finnish Radio show. In a vein I can very much relate to, these early 90′s records…

Kahden Best of -lähetyksen jälkeen YleX:n perjantai-ilta tarttuu jälleen kiinni uuteen klubimusiikkiin. Soitossa on soundia mm. kotimaisilta TJH87:lta, Maison&Dragenilta ja Peetu S:ltä. Ulkomaan ihmeitä edustavat Gareth Emery, Arty, Filterheadz, Dennis Sheperd, Camo&Krooked, Matrix & Futurebound ja Lab 4.
Vuoden ensimmäisen XmiXin toimittaa käsittämättömässä nosteessa oleva ja Klubikysely 2012:n Vuoden Tulokas -sarjan voittanut Heavyweight DJs. Heavyweightien Rascal kertoo haastattelussa parhaat palat menneestä vuodesta sekä vuoden 2013 suunnitelmista. XmiXissä kuullaan vielä julkaisemattomia Heavyweight-raitoja.
