Picks from the crate #11 – Choice – Paris EP

An early (’93), epic and hypnotic techno masterpiece by Laurent Garnier. Every track is superb, but Acid Eiffel is the real gem. Over 13 minutes of oldskool bliss. Found at a flea market in Warsaw in 1999.

Picks from the crate #10 – Dave Clarke – Red Series

A true badass techno series.

Red 1 was bought from Mind Records in 1998 after listening a sample of it via landline telephone.
Red 2 is a new red & transparent repress from Decks Records after I lost my original.
Red 3 was bought from Disco Duck Records, Prague, Czech Republic in 1999.

Marraskuun ensimmäisen DJ-ohjelman vieraana on Helsingin Clinic-klubille 13.11. saapuva Above & Beyond. Vastajulkaistussa DJ Mag TOP100 DJ-äänestyksessä viidenneksi sijoittuneen trion Paavo Siljamäki käy läpi puhelinhaastattelussa tämän hetken trancetrendejä, puhuu kolmikon vahvuuksista ja heikkouksista tämän hetken musamaailmassa, uudesta teknologiasta DJ-kopissa sekä Above & Beyondin tulevasta levystä.

Suomen ensi-illassa lisäksi uusi Oceanlab & Gareth Emery -yhteissinkku sekä uudet remiksit Hybridin “Disappear Here”-albumin nimikkobiisistä. Lautasilla myös Moguai, Wolfgang Gartner, Andy Moor, Jerome Isma-Ae, Breakfast sekä kuukauden tiukin drum ‘n bass -albumi.

This Saturday: Super8&Tab album release event + 2,5h set @ After Hours

This Saturday sees the long awaited debut album release event of Super8 & Tab, the most successful Finnish trance duo. The parrrrty will take place at Virgin Oil with – naturally – Super8 & Tab headlining. Me and DJ Orkidea will do the backup.
Downstairs summer club Mixxed hosts Niko Geselle and Tony Profondo will take care of the proper vibe.
Super8&Tab will start at midnight and I’ll be doing the warmup 22-00 with a trancey state of mind.

I will also play a 2,5h set at the afterparty 05:00-07:30 at Playground on a way more tech-house/techno tip. If the evening wasn’t long enough, this might be a place to give a shot.

Good weekend coming up. Let’s get it on.

Lokakuun ensimmäisessä YleX:n DJ-ohjelmassa pureudutaan uuden aallon progebreiksin tekijöihin, jotka kulkevat vanhojen legendojen kuten Hybridin ja Way Out Westin jalanjäljissä. Lisäksi käydään läpi muutamat Suomi-tuotannot sekä progehousen ja trancen viime aikojen ykkösjulkaisut. Lautasilla Chicane, Robert Miles, DJ Orkidea Suomen ensi-illassa Inception-elokuvan teemaraidasta tehdyllä uudelleenversioinnilla, Jerome Isma-Ae, Bushi, uusintakierroksella Sami Saari ja Timo Juuti, progebreaks-tähdet Redroid, Abdomen Burst ja Aeron Aether sekä viikon vinyyli vuodelta 2001.
