Jori Hulkkonen about fame:

“Sure enough there’s a lot people who never were “big”, but are they still working? Releasing albums, singles, getting remix requests and DJing all over after 15 years? No. But I am. And this I see as my greatest achievement and there’s a lesson to be learned everyone: If you never become trendy it’s impossible for you to become untrendy.”

The whole interview/article is worth reading. Check also his latest album, Man From Earth.

New Prodigy album

By UncategorizedNo Comments

Some news just out.
Prodigy’s new album is now ready. 11 tracks and the name is Invaders Must Die. No guest vocalists, but Dave Grohl appearing.

From Liam’s update note:
“its a band album mostly so we can play all the tunes live if we want. didnt want to have any guest vocalists on this record even though we did do 3 collabs but they didnt feel part of this record — they may come out later. dave grohl plays on run with the wolves, what a top lad he is . he approached me and we pulled that tune out the bag at last minute, fast ferocious tune with evil big electronic riff with keef on vocals.”

Music download tips

Here are some music download tips which I can warmly recommend:

Adam Singer, a pianist and electronic music artist has released a full length artist album downloadable for free. 12 very nice and chilly downtempo/electronica tracks and more than 77 minutes of music. Available here.

Finnish DJ Aki A. released a three part mix, which is probably the most awesome mixed wholeness I’ve heard in a while. Aki has an incredible musical sense as a DJ and I can bet he’ll be one of the future trendsetters in progressive scene in Finland. Or actually… he already is. Check and download the Autumn Grooves triple mix Lisboa-London-Seattle.

Underworld’s new album “Oblivion with Bells”

Underworld
Oblivion with Bells

Out October 2007

When Underworld released their last album “A Hundred Days off ” no one thought it would be nearly 2000 days until the next one arrived. It hasn’t been a case of lazing around in the Essex countryside though as the last 5 years have thrown up the 1992-2002 anthology album, two major film scores (Anthony Mingellas’ “Breaking and Entering” and Danny Boyles’ 2007 “Sunshine”), a self-published typographic journal “In The Belly of Saint Paul”, a series of pioneering digital-only releases, internet-radio broadcasts, a groundbreaking live web-tv broadcast and gig in partnership with Apple and Frankfurts’ techno giants Cocoon and countless gigs around the world.
