Danceteria never fails. After taking a taxi from Yle studios to DTM and driving through totally empty city I couldn’t help thinking would there be party at all going on in DTM. After all, it was the first Friday after Vappu celebrations and the taxi driver was stating that there’s no one going out tonight.
Well, luckily he was wrong. When I arrived to DTM at 00:30 the floor was full and Something Good was pounding their combination of tech-housey tunes and melodic prog tracks to an enthusiastic crowd. I started off with a bit deeper approach, moved pretty quickly to groovey tech-house tracks and dropped in some technoish numbers. DTM’s sound system is just massive and it was great to see rather minimal but groovy tunes such as Max Bett’s Different Foot make people go nuts. However, the track must have been Kaiserdisco’s brilliant Peak Tram which blew off the roof. Snare rolls are back! :)
Massive thanks to Mr.A who invited me in – it was great to return to Danceteria after such a long pause – and Heikki L, who took care of the end of the night with BIG tunes. Not to forget the people who won their Vappu tiredness and showed up – I couldn’t imagine better and more open-minded crowd as in DTM last night.

A new house club concept Fuj¡ starts this Friday at a fresh venue Kamikaze in the heart of Helsinki centrum. Me, JS16 and Peak will be headlining the opening night which is a startup of a weekly house club at Freda 48. The following weeks look promising with Funkstar De Luxe coming for a visit and the venue introducing a wide scale of Finnish house talents.
This Saturday sees the long awaited debut album release event of Super8 & Tab, the most successful Finnish trance duo. The parrrrty will take place at Virgin Oil with – naturally – Super8 & Tab headlining. Me and DJ Orkidea will do the backup.
Downstairs summer club Mixxed hosts Niko Geselle and Tony Profondo will take care of the proper vibe.
Super8&Tab will start at midnight and I’ll be doing the warmup 22-00 with a trancey state of mind.
I will also play a 2,5h set at the afterparty 05:00-07:30 at Playground on a way more tech-house/techno tip. If the evening wasn’t long enough, this might be a place to give a shot.

To be honest, this is something you would not expect when driving 50km from Hämeenlinna to the woods and play at the scout camp. Thanks to everyone at Kilke, especially to Jangler for superb hospitality. Such a friendly atmosphere during the day – and such a crrrrazy atmosphere in the night :)

A busy weekend coming up. On Friday I’ll be playing at the ten year anniversary party of a local club related website Klubitus. For years Klubitus has been #1 information provider in Finland for anyone interested in club scene and its birthday is not only a gathering of like-minded people but also a get-together of DJs who normally don’t play at the same event. Legendary Art of Trance will be headlining. An eclectic and interesting night coming up.
On Saturday I’ll head to Bio Rex terrace to probably the best regular summer club event in Helsinki. Mixxed Discotheque has been running for some years now – every summer Saturday hosted by Tony Profondo and Niko Geselle – at the heart of Helsinki with really really nice views and happy atmosphere. Usually there are some queues, not a bad decision to come early – the party starts already at 19:00 and the terrace closes at 02:00. I’ll start my 1,5hours at 23:15 and Kimmo O, Aslak and the residents Tony and Niko take care of the rest.

A funky weekend in Northern Finland coming up. On Friday 16.7. I’ll head to Kajaani’s #1 venue Club 96 with my dear friend DJ Kaasi. As usual, we play a full 6h set – it’s been a tradition for 7-8 years in a row already and it’s still a bliss to go there.
On Saturday Oulu-possé is organizing AEM Festival where the local music lovers not only share the breaks & beats but also spice the small-scale festival with saunas, beach volley fields and some crazy water activities. Very cool, very Finnish.
I’ll be playing a 1,5h super eclectic set at the festival before heading to Dyyni’s Sunburn event. It’s my 11th time in Dyyni, totally missed the 10th time celebrations, but let’s make the 11th time as special as the previous nights :) Three hour set expected, starting around 00:30. Kaasi does the warm-up, couldn’t be any better.
